You are invited into a magical world
Storytelling is in Katy Mangan’s blood. She blends her
personal history of being exposed to the stories about Celts and Druids with
nature-based stories that come while walking her dog in rural Sonoma. Katy describes beautiful environments that surround characters who are sometimes
magical, yet we can nonetheless relate to. These characters explore timeless
themes about making choices, seeking self-knowledge, and simplifying life, all
told with humor and insight.
Eduardo is a young man in his early twenties, a shaman with
special powers, immensely gifted and wise beyond his years. His sweetheart
Rachel, exemplifies the search to really know ourselves, as she learns to listen deeply, and grows to be aware.
Shirley Ann is a middle-aged wife who fits in with
her surroundings quite nicely, but is very much her own person. She is well supported by great women friends.
Come listen to Katy Mangan tell stories with distinct regional
British accents in her melodic voice. You’ll enter a beautiful, outwardly idyllic world where characters navigate problems that
are relevant to our world as well as theirs.
As part of
Art on the Ridge,
Bennett Ridge Artist Community Open Studios, Katy will tell a story every
hour: 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m.
See you on September 16th & 17th, 2017
